Amelia Sherileen Robbins

September 7, 1937 — November 19, 2023

Amelia Sherileen Cox Robbins, 86, of Shelley, passed away November 19, 2023, at Community Hospital of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family.

Mom was born September 7, 1937, in Shelley, Idaho to Leonard Delaun Cox Jr. (know as LD) and Flora "LaRue" Harker Cox.

On March 25, 1955 she married her eternal spouse, Joseph "Myron" Robbins in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They were blessed with six children, Cindy, David, Shane, Karen, Joeina and Quinn

Mom learned the value of hard work and integrity from her parents, being raised on a ranch and farm, that was expected and required.  She tried to pass that on to her children.

Mom had many homemaking skills, which included yummy meals, but excelled  in her baking, mainly her bread and parker house rolls, and she did make the best deserts and goodies..

The one special gift given to mom was her sewing.  Early in the marriage she started doing custom sewing and the reputation of being an excellent seamstress got around and customers lined up well in advance.  In her sleep she was revealed some new sewing techniques which became poplar years later.

Mom loved the piano and was very skilled at it.  After her family was raised she started to take lessons again.  It made her really happy when she would learn a grandchild wanted to learn to play.  Of course us girls also learned to play.  She has mentioned that one of her most fulfilling callings was being the organist in her ward.  She also loved playing in the temple for several years.

Mom belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings, including in the Stake and Ward Relief Society presidencies, Organist, Den mother and many others

Amelia is survived by her husband,  Myron Robbins, her children, Cindy (Dan) Horkley, David Robbins, Shane (Candee) Robbins, Karen (Bob, deceased) Doolittle, Joeina (Jason) Sadovich, and Quinn (Kelli) Robbins.  And Her brother, Leon (Sharon) Cox. She has 22 Grandkids, 50 Great Grandkids, and 2 Great Great Granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LD and LaRue Cox, her sisters Lorna Esplin, Violet Peterson, and Joann Hampton, her brother Kenneth Cox.

We as a family would like to thank Community Hospital, Drs and nurses for the care they provided for mom.  They were sensitive and thoughtful of all her needs, along with the family needs.

Mom had a strong testimony and knows there is life after death. We are sure she is rejoicing with her family who are there.  We and Dad love you, we will miss you and are looking forward to when we will see you again.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Goshen Ward Chapel (792 N 1090 E).
