Ann Olson Foster

Ann Olson Foster passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at MorningStar in Ammon at the age of 82.

She was born June 9, 1933 in Shelley, Idaho to Oscar Olson and Myrtle Dial.

She grew up in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School.

On August 14, 1952 she married Glen Foster at her parent’s home in Shelley.

They celebrated their 63

rd

wedding anniversary last year.

Ann was employed by Utah Power & Light and retired after 40 years of service.

She loved music her whole life and was an accomplished organist and pianist, playing for her local LDS church, in a dance band and providing music for numerous weddings and funerals.

Ann enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was herself a keen golfer, becoming President of the Idaho Falls Women’s Golf Association.

She was an avid animal lover and had many dogs she loved dearly in her long life.

She was also a wonderful “from-scratch” cook; and family and friends looked forward to her meals.

She cherished her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Foster of Idaho Falls, her children, Susan (Max) Waterman of Rigby, Wally Foster of Driggs, Lyn (Mike) Birch of Ammon, Hugh (Traci) Foster of Pocatello, and four grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Bud (Karen) Olson of Phoenix, AZ and her sister, Doris (Bill) Holley of Firth.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of MorningStar Reflections and Encompass Home Health and Hospice for their care and kindness during a very difficult time.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Temple View Ward Chapel, 1450 Mountain View Lane in Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church before the services.  Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
