Ardell Orma Talbot

Ardell Orma Brown Talbot, 92, of Shelley passed away March 13, 2007 at her home in Shelley from natural causes.

She was born November 10, 1914 in Orient, Iowa to Worthy Dell and Margaret Henderson Brown.  Her family moved from Iowa to Idaho Falls when she was young and she helped her father on his farm.  She graduated from Idaho Falls High School.

On January 6, 1934 she married Ora Talbot in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They lived in California & then moved to Shelley, Idaho, where she has lived for 53 years.

She rode in the Shelley Riding Russets Horse Posse taking many honors with her horse.  She worked at the Goodsell Elementary School lunch program, at RT French Company, and was a bookkeeper for her husbands contracting company.

Ardell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She served in the Relief Society and Mutual Programs and made quilts to send to Primary Children’s Hospital. She loved horses, quilting, crocheting, being with family, the outdoors and gardening.            

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Baird of Shelley, sister, Margorie Zink of Idaho Falls, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, two sons, Gary and Russell, one grandson, and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 17th at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley with Bishop Vern Bowden conducting. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
