Arleene Prescott of Goshen, Idaho passed away August 17, 2015.

RoNella Arleene Prescott was born on her grandparent’s ranch June 20, 1932 in Ora, Fremont County, Idaho to Dewey Bowman and Katherine Niederhaus.  Arleene was the third of nine children.

She moved several times as a child from farm to farm in St Anthony area as it was during the Great Depression and times were hard.  She attended grade school in St Anthony and in Sugar City.  Her parents bought a farm in Goshen in the mid 1940’s.  She moved back to that farm in 1965 and resided there until her passing.

After graduation from Firth High School she moved to Pocatello and worked for Garrett Freight Lines as a secretary.  She lived at the YWCA. She was introduced to Robert Prescott by a co-worker and they married February 14, 1953 three years after their first date in Pocatello, Idaho.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in November 1971.  They lived in Pocatello until 1965 when they purchased the Bowman farm and moved to Goshen.

They had three children, Michael, Steven and Kristeen.  Kristeen was handicapped and she required a lot of care and mom was always there for her.  Kristeen passed way in 1982 at the age of 25.

Throughout her life she was always working.  In addition to Garrett Freight Lines, she also worked as a clerk/bookkeeper in the county Assessor’s Office for Bannock County, Idaho Supreme Potatoes, Bateman Brothers Construction and Shelley Senior Citizens Center.

Arleene was a convert of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was baptized in 1954.  She served in a variety of positions throughout her life.  She also served a mission in the Idaho Pocatello Mission, serving at the Idaho Falls Temple Visitor Center from May 1996 to May 1997.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Marquita) Prescott of Edmond, Oklahoma and Steven (Rebecca) Prescott of Firth, Idaho, sisters, Margaret Chapman, Firth, Idaho, Janis Davis, Puyallup, Washington, Connie Gallup, Pocatello, Idaho, one brother, Randy Bowman, Pocatello, Idaho, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Holly Lambson (Jeremy) of Chubbuck, Idaho and their children, Kylee, Ian, Connor, and Kaitlyn, Hannah Hobbs (Jeffery) of Erie, Pennsylvania and their children Mason, Wyatt, and Isaac, Matthew Prescott (Lupita) of Idaho Falls and their child Robert, Mark Prescott of Pocatello, Idaho, Tanner Prescott (Kelli) of Davie, Florida and their children Kali and Tyson, Tyler Prescott and Thomas Prescott of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Tara McAlister (Taylor) of Rexburg, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and three brothers Harvey, Terry, and Kay Bowman and a sister Ramonia Bowman.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 22, 2015 at the Goshen Ward Chapel (792 North 1090 East). The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church.
