Arva Edith Wuthrich

Arva Edith Wuthrich, 83, of Idaho Falls, died April 15, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 7, 1923, in St. Charles, Idaho to Odell and Lillie Williamson. She attended grade school in St. Charles and graduated Valedictorian of her class from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho. She studied art under Dan Peterson, a nationally-known artist, at the Modesto Jr. College.

On November 30, 1942, she married Robert Werner Wuthrich. Their marriage was solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona temple. They made their home in Salt Lake City and Modesto, California, until they moved to Idaho Falls in 1974. She worked as the head teller at Zions Bank in Salt Lake City for many years. In 1974 they purchased the Singer Sewing Center on Park Avenue. They operated the Singer store until their retirement in 1989.

She was a well known artist not only in Idaho, but her artwork has been shown in private collections and galleries throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Israel. She was a life member in the Eagle Rock Art Guild and won many art awards during her lifetime. She was painting right up until the time she passed away.

She was a devoted member of the LDS church and served in many callings in the Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations. Together they served a Spanish-speaking mission in Arcadia, California.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert W. Wuthrich of Shelley, one son, Thomas Robert Wuthrich of Idaho Falls, one daughter, Jodi Liane Wuthrich McIntyre of Idaho Falls; seven grandchildren, Sydney Wuthrich, Zack Wuthrich, Derek Allan Hampton, Kelsie Liane Hampton, Dokota Ray Murdock, Kree Jazzmine Rae Murdock, & Jaden Robert Murdock; two sisters June Weston of Laketown, UT, and Udell Hirschi of Kent, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three children, Ronnie Lamar Wuthrich, Bobbie Lynn Wuthrich, & Sandra Liane Wuthrich.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21, at the Shelley South Stake Center, 675 S. Milton with Bishop Shawn Leckington conducting. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak in Shelley, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Friday before services at the church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
