Barbara Burton Johnson was born on December 29,1933 to Robert Joseph and Mary Helen Burton in Grace, Idaho.
Barbara grew up on their family farm, building close relationships with her siblings that would last her whole life. She attended school in Grace where she graduated in 1951 and then attended BYU. She was married to Keith William Johnson on November 16, 1956.
Keith and Barbara settled in Shelley briefly before moving to Firth in 1959 to their forever home. Barbara loved Firth, raising her 4 children there with their dog Chucka. She loved being a homemaker. She always had a thriving garden and made the best strawberry jam.
Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Idaho Falls temple weekly for many years and also worked on family history often. She held many callings and found joy in visiting teaching and making bread for the sacrament. Her testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ was very deep as manifested by her charity shared with everyone.
Other notable service includes hundreds of volunteer hours and service on the board for Bingham Memorial hospital, regularly attending Daughters of the Utah Pioneers meetings, and serving as Firth city councilwoman for 17 years.
Barbara loved traveling with her sisters, walking regularly with her neighborhood friends, and welcoming anyone who visited her with warmth and any food they would accept.
Barbara also enjoyed many craft hobbies - she made quilts for every one of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many and leaves a legacy of hard work and love.
