Barbara Rose Likes

Barbara Rose Lundquist Likes returned home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday August 23, 2012, at her home in Ammon, Idaho.

She was born December 19, 1933, the daughter Oscar Earl and Cleotha Jennings Lundquist in LaBelle, Jefferson County, Idaho. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married her sweetheart and best friend, Leonard Likes, April 3, 1953, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1961. They were wonderful parents to the family of three daughters they were blessed with. In 1964 they built their dream home south of Idaho Falls doing most of the work themselves. They purchased a summer home in Hot Springs, Montana in 1991 and have spent winters since 1994 in their home in Surprise, Arizona.

In 1969 she and Leonard bought their first rental property and worked hard to remodel it. In the next years other rental properties followed, many needing a lot of work. Barbara worked in sales for many years and in 1978 she got her real estate license and began selling properties. She moved on to a property management business of her own.  She loved the opportunity to meet new people that the business offered. She retired from property management to travel. She and Leonard enjoyed traveling which included trips to many places in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and Panama.  They shared their love of going on cruises with their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, decorating, reading, watching movies and talking to people. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held callings in Primary, Relief Society and Young Women.

She is survived by her husband Leonard Likes of Ammon and their three daughters and husbands:  Shelley and Ted Milton of Idaho Falls, Shawna and Karl Martin of Idaho Falls, and Terry and Ladd Jones of Hot Springs, Montana, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Ruth Olson and brother Dallas Lundquist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother and grandson, Nathan Milton.

A private family service will be held.
