Beth Markham Marsden was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on October 9, 1919, to Joseph Wilford Markham and Iva Christine Robertson. She died peacefully at her home, in Taylor, with her family surrounding her on May 27, 2010 at the age of 90 following extended illnesses and remarkable recoveries.
She grew up in Spanish Fork and later attended the LDS Business College and graduated from BYU with a Bachelors degree in textiles.
She married J. Zane Marsden July 19, 1950 in the Manti temple. Church service was vital to her. She served in stake and ward callings. Her favorite positions included teaching Gospel Doctrine and Family Relations. She served in her youth as a full-time missionary in the East Central States Mission and later, after her husband’s death, a mission in the Chicago temple. She enjoyed membership and teaching opportunities in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She and Zane established Zane’s Jewelry in 1962. Her work at Zane’s developed many lifelong friendships with both employees and customers. In her retirement years, she often expressed her love and appreciation for their support to her family and to herself.
She is preceded in death by her husband J. Zane Marsden, her two daughters Gwen Cooper (Kim), Mauree Call (Kevin), and a grandson Daniel Marsden. She is survived by her sons Joseph Lee (Sandy), Clifford Zane (Cheryl), Dennis Ray (Kathy), thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 1, 2010 at the Taylor Ward Chapel (1101 East 1250 North). The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Tuesday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
