Brent Edmund Moon, passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes on Tuesday September 10, 2024
Brent was born on September 14, 1942 in Ogden Utah to Edmund B Moon and Lovina Cleova Monson. Brent was the baby of the family, His older sisters Jean, Wanda, Artele were about 20 years older. He also had a brother Dale who passed away at the age of one year. In addition, Brent had an adopted brother Steve Moon.
The family lived in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Brent attended Idaho Falls High School and worked at First Street Welding where he became a topnotch welder. Brent married Kathryn Clifford on November 21, 1961. Brent an (Kay) welcomed a daughter Angela and a son Dirk and a stepdaughter Elizabeth Coning. They were later divorced. Brent was drafted into the army in 1964 and served two years in Germany. When Brent returned home, he went into the irrigation business where he worked until he was 65, he became friends with most of the farmers and knew practically everyone in the valley. Brent married Claudia Irene Rowe on August 16, 1983. The were married for 16 years and helped raise two of their grandchildren in their home. Brent is survived by children Angela Sievers (Randy), Dirk Moon (Becky), and Elizabeth Humphreys (Scott). Stepchildren Darcy Murrieta, Danny Murrieta, Betty Murrieta, Tracy Murrieta, seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Brent was preceded in death by his father Ed Moon, his mother, Lovina Moon, His brothers Dale and Steve Moon. Sisters Artele Vetere, Wanda Hart and Jean Jacobsen.
Brent was an avid hunter, spending most of his free time pursuing adventures in the mountains near Idaho Falls, whether there was a road or not. All the kids, grandkids and spouses spent many hours with him scouting for animals, camping and fishing. He would always tell us the places and times he had a successful hunt as well as the unsuccessful times. He was a great storyteller and sometimes we couldn’t tell if he was pulling our leg or not. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed and his memory will genuinely be cherished.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday September 16, 2024 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery with Military Rites.
