Brett Ray Prestwich

Brett Ray Prestwich left this earth on June 26, 2016 at the age of 53.

Brett was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 14, 1963.  Brett was the first child of Verdell and Mona Prestwich.  Brett grew up loving the outdoors.  He loved to hunt especially birds and spent many days on the family farm hunting, fishing, farming, having picnics, sledding and playing with his siblings and cousins.  Brett also enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, they loved to fish and took him whenever they could.

He attended Firth High School.  Brett loved studying about wars especially World War II.  After leaving high school he had several jobs and lived in various places before settling in Mackay, Idaho.

Brett is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he enjoyed reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon.  He loved his family, especially his parents and spent many hours listening to stories they both told of their lives.  His Dad has a special talent of always getting Brett to laugh.

Brett is survived by his parents, Verdell and Mona Prestwich of Basalt, Idaho.  His siblings Shuryce Prestwich (Donna), of Rigby, ID, Bart Prestwich (Joanna) of Shelley, ID, Glade Prestwich (Suzanne) of Ammon, ID, Jared Prestwich (Corinne) of Firth, ID, ten nieces and nephews; Jordan, Austin, Dylan, Porter, Taelore, Hallie, Kace, Weston, Conner, CJ and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Basalt Ward Chapel (823 N 675 E). The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
