Carol Bridges Hernandez, 85, of Blackfoot passed away November 2, 2017 at The Willows in Blackfoot surrounded by family.
She was born on May 19, 1932 to Charles T. Maylon “Mel” Bridges and Melda Jane Mitchell Bridges in Shelley, Idaho.
Carol married Jack F. Contor. To this union three children were born. They were later divorced. She married Angelo Hernandez on August 23, 1980 at the home they have shared since their wedding day. With this union, Carol added three more children to her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Angelo; sister, Larene Morris; daughter, Peggy Baker; sons, John (Margaret) Contor and Daniel Contor; Angelo’s daughters, Valerie Hernandez (Burke Morrison), Chemille “Angie” (Glenn) Fisher; Angelo’s son, Greg Hernandez; six grandchildren, Christine Burgett, Jennifer DeKay, Carmen Atwood, Nancy Jackson, Andres Hernandez, and Effie Hernandez, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Morris Bridges, Nate Bridges, and Kenneth Bridges, a great grandson, Casey J. Hernandez, and Angelo’s son, Mike Hernandez.
The family would like to thank the staff members at The Willows and at Encompass Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided for Carol during the last few months of her life.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 6, 2017 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak Street, in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Monday for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
