Carol Lee (Tuma) Lockyer, 76, of Pocatello passed away July 2, 2007 at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello.
She was born July 6, 1930 at Basalt, Idaho to Robert Dickens Lockyer and Laura Bell Fowler.
After her twin sister got married she joined the Women’s Army Corp. where she spent three years. While in the Army she spent a lot of her time in Tokyo, Japan working in the Tokyo Hospital. She was honorably discharged. She received the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal & National Defense Service Medal.
She enjoyed riding horses and often would draw horse pictures.
She married Emil A. Tuma July 22, 1960 in Jackson, Wyoming. They were later divorced.
She is survived by three children: Lauralee (Keith) Johnson of Shelley, Shane Albert Tuma & Lisa Ann Tuma both of Idaho Falls, 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her twin sister, Evelyn Jensen of Firth, and one brother, Eugene Craig Lockyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Calvin Lewis Lockyer & Richard Dix Lockyer.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday July 5th at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23.
