Christine Mary Woolf, 71 of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday September 22, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born April 6, 1947 in Idaho Falls, ID to Chester V and Margurite J Sutton. She grew up in Firth, ID and graduated from Firth High School. She was a free-spirited child and enjoyed everything outdoors including riding horses, she loved to paint, and sew. Her family owned the local bar Spudmans in Firth, ID. She loved to spend time playing pool and pinochle and helping her parents.
She married Stephen W Woolf on March 27, 1968 in Reno, NV. They were married 50 years, the duo were like peas in a pod, never away from each other’s side. Together they loved hunting, fishing, and enjoying a good camp fire in the outdoors with their two children Tammy and James. They loved to travel together and traveled the world over, bringing home treasure for their family. They especially enjoyed their trip to Africa. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren whom she loved and was amazed at how smart and full of life they are.
During her 35-year career with Bingham County, she worked as a dispatcher for the Bingham County Sherriff Dept. and then retired as a Clerk of the Magistrate Court. Making many life long friends along the way. They were often found hosting back yard BBQ’s for their friends.
She belonged to the BPOE Elks Lodge DOES, where she and Stephen spent a lot of time socializing with good friends.
Mom loved good food and enjoyed collecting new recipes to cook for her family. The freezers were always full, and no one ever went hungry at her house. She was always writing a new recipe down and notebooks can be found all over the house with her grocery lists and recipes. She loved having collections from antiques, a new pair of earrings for her collection, an extensive movie collection, decanters, and appreciated the history of things.
Chris always had a kind word for all who she associated with and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She taught us to work hard, enjoy each other, and family comes first.
She is survived by her children Tammy (Mark) High and M James (Meshawn) Woolf, her brother Michael (Hazel) Sutton, her mother-in-law Elsie Keller, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen W Woolf, and her parents Chester V and Margurite J Sutton.
