Connie Austin Bridges passed away in the early morning hours of April 6, 2024. She was under the care of Gateway Transitional Care Center in Pocatello, Idaho.
Connie was born October 18, 1937 to Philo Rulon Austin and Verla Barrus. She was a loving daughter, mother, foster-mother, sister, aunt, wife and friend to many.
Connie spent her childhood in Groveland, Moreland, and Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956. After graduation, she married Max Jorgensen. They later divorced.
In 1964, she met and married Morris Malyon Bridges, the love of her life. At that time, Connie had five children and Morris had six children. They later had one child together. They worked and raised their family in Shelley, Idaho Falls, Albion, and Burley. They were happily married for 36 years. They also shared their life with over 200 foster children.
After his passing, she met and married Forrest Helms. They enjoyed many good years of exploring and traveling together. They lived in Oakly, Idaho.
When Forrest passed away, she met and married Delbert Lee Morris. They continued to live in Oakley, Idaho and enjoyed being together for a few years until his passing.
Connie is survived by her daughters: Maxine (Steven) Orme, Cindy (Pat) Reed; and her sons: Gary (Zoann) Jorgensen, Bob (Dora Deen) Jorgensen, Mike (Twila) Bridges, Austin (Stacy) Bridges; step children: Gene Bridges, Chuck Bridges, Joe Bridges, Steve Bridges, Holly Bridges, Malene Bridges and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers: Lloyd (Ann) Austin, Kenny (Margie) Smith, Jay Smith, Kay Smith, Brent (Janean) Smith, Arden (Jan) Smith; and her sisters: Carol (James) Stratton, Vicki (Michael) Gregory, and sister-in-law, Edna Austin.
She was preceded in death by her, parents, and her brothers: Vernon Austin and Darrell Smith; niece, Norita Austin LeFever and nephew, Nicholas Austin.
Connie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings and completed a service mission.
She was an amazing seamstress and talented upholsterer. She loved her life and she loved people. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 till 1:45 P.M at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
