Darell Con Farrar, 70, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at his home in Nampa from natural causes.
He was born December 15, 1941, to Eugene “Bill” Farrar and True Francis Hanny. He attended schools in Firth, Idaho graduating from Firth High School.
He grew up in Firth. As a child he always wanted to be busy. In the winter he would load the wheelbarrow with snow, haul it across the yard, dump it out and go back for another load. He did this just to keep busy! He developed good work ethics which he continued to have throughout his life.
He had a love for nature and animals. He had a big heart, full of compassion for those who were in need, always willing to give help where he could.
He was a Sharp Shooter in the US Army serving from 1963-1965.
After the military he began working at his dream job in the transportation industry transporting livestock and petroleum products. His truck of preference being a Peterbilt.
He officially retired in November 2011 but still went to the truck shop daily to work with his close friend Bob Rose and others in the truck shop.
He is survived by his three children, Jay, Perry and Michelle. His Mother, his siblings, Reed (LaRee), Keith (Mary), Janice Schwendiman, Beverly (Tony) Bell, Marilyn (Clinton) Jensen and Steven (Kellie).
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Firth Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93 assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 till 1:40 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley.
