Darla Kaye Madsen

Darla Kaye Madsen, of Idaho Falls, passed away on January 27, 2015, she was 59.

She was born on July 9, 1955 to Lynn and Vita Dye and grew up in the Shelley/Firth area.

Darla met her husband Rex in high school. They were married on November 5, 1977, and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 3, 1978. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where they raised their eight children.

Darla was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved spending time reading the scriptures and serving others. Her other joys included things such as singing, doing puzzles, playing games, painting, and playing the piano and Organ. What Darla loved most though, was her family. From her children to her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rex, parents, and a sister, Verlyn Outcelt.

She is survived by her sons Derrick (Lorna), Scott, and Michael (Kynwynn); daughters Jennifer (Aaron) Hokanson, Elizabeth (Clint) Wampler, Kyra, Cali (Jasper), and Tenyka, 19 grandchildren, 3 sisters, and one brother.

The family would like to thank all who have expressed their love and support at this time. It is deeply appreciated.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Firth Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to cover medical and funeral expenses which can be made through Nalder funeral home.
