Darrell Deloy Herndon

Darrell DeLoy Herndon, 73, of Basalt passed away June 6, 2022.

He was born in Shelley, Idaho the 9th of 10 children followed minutes later by his twin brother Doyle to Ora Lester and Edith Herndon. He received his schooling in Shelley graduating in 1966.

He married Stacia Humphries and had one daughter, Wendy. Darrell attended ISU and received his degree in drafting and design. They were later divorced. A few years later he met and married Diane Fuller and they moved to Basalt where they resided at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, three adult brothers and two adult sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, his twin brother, Doyle, his sisters, Millie Fletcher and Carol Mitchell, his daughter, Wendy Neal, his stepson, Jackie Fuller, his step daughters, Donna Singer, Trina Ries, and Jennifer Bodine, three grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Firth Stake Center (823 N 675 E) in Basalt. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, (110 West Oak Street Shelley) and Friday from 10:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
