Derek Lorin Davis

Derek Lorin Davis, 34, of Shelley passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from natural causes surrounded my family.

Derek was the third child born on May 18, 1977, to Karl and Aleta Davis. He grew up in Woodville and attended Shelley High School. Afterwards, he began his profession as a cabinetmaker. Up until the time of his death, he worked for Woodland Furniture. He loved to work with wood and enjoyed seeing the results after building the cabinets and furniture.

Derek loved the outdoors! He loved to spend quality time with his nieces and nephews by taking them fishing and for rides on his motorcycle.

Derek was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his mother, Aleta Davis; his grandfather, L.A. Johnson; his sisters, Stacy Davis Carpenter and Christy Davis Chapple; brother-in-laws, Wade Kirt Carpenter and James Chapple; nephews, Jackson Wade Carpenter, Dakota James Chapple, Zachary Karl Chapple; nieces, Keisha Lynn Chapple, Shelby Ann Carpenter, Amadaia Lynn Blair and his dogs, Jager and Skippy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Karl Lynn Davis; grandmother, Atha Louise Johnson; grandparents, Clarence and Gladys Davis, and his Aunt Neidra Taggart.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm. on Thursday, March 1, 2012  at the Woodville Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
