Devin Barlow Cook, 21, of Goshen, passed away April 14, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Devin was born December 26, 1990, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Barlow Lewis Cook and Merralee Purcell Cook. He was the youngest of eight children, the brother of seven older sisters. Devin was a special person who touched the lives of all those who had the blessing and privilege of knowing him.
Devin grew up in Goshen and attended school in Firth, where he loved interacting with many caring classmates and adults. While in high school, he also enjoyed working at the Development Workshop in Idaho Falls.
Devin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a member of the Goshen Ward, and he loved the many friends he associated with there. Devin also enjoyed attending seminary in Firth during his high school years.
Devin loved music, riding on the motorcycle with Dad, watching sports, shooting the basketball, listening to people read aloud, and eating french fries. Devin enjoyed people. He had a delightful sense of humor, and his contagious smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Devin is survived by his parents of Goshen; sisters, Sharla Cook of Goshen; Melinda (Mark) Gneiting of Gardnerville, Nevada; Kimberlee Cook of Goshen; Melanie (Rigo) Vasquez of Goshen; Suzanne (Ryan) Morehead of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Krystal (David) Mundt of Shelley; Brittany Cook of Rexburg; grandmothers, Afton Cook of Goshen and Helen Purcell of Ammon; sixteen nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Devin was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Darrell Cook and Mark Purcell.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Goshen LDS Chapel (792 N 1090 E). The family will visit with friends Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W Oak) in Shelley and from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday at the Goshen Ward building. Interment will be in the Goshen cemetery.
