Dona Kathryn Anderson

Dona Kathryn Anderson passed away peacefully July 12, 2012, from cause’s incident to age.  She was born in Preston, Idaho, April 13, 1926, to Adrian Solomon Campbell and Kathryn Marie McDermott.  She graduated from Idaho Falls High School, worked in Blackfoot, and lived most of her life in Shelley.

Dona married R. Vaughn Anderson on Jan. 14, 1948.  To this union 4 sons were born. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in May 1965.  They were later divorced.

Dona was a very talented artist.  She had beautiful penmanship, painted pictures, enjoyed flower arranging and other crafts.  She always enjoyed good music and religion.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, fulfilling many callings.  She enjoyed being a visiting teacher.

She is survived by Greg (Terry) Anderson, Basalt, Neil (Terry) Anderson, Shelley, Robert Anderson, West Jordan, Utah, and Bart Anderson, Richland, Washington, 14 grandchildren, and 26 great –grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vaughn, and sisters, Fonda Lou Edwards and Thelma Mae Campbell. 

The family would like to give special thanks to The Gables of Shelley, and Lily and Syringa Assisted Living Centers and Hands of Hope Hospice for all the loving and caring assistance they provided for the last few years.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July16, 2012 at the Shelley South Stake Center (675 South Milton).  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Monday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 at the church.  Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
