Dorotha Fae Anderson, 84, died on November 30, 2007 in Kingman, Arizona.
Dorotha was born on May 27, 1923 at the Apache Powder Plant in Southern Arizona. She joined the family of Alfonzo and Mignon Christensen and was the youngest of their six children. She graduated from Provo High School in 1941.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Mission. She married Arlan Lewis Anderson on October 14, 1944 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. She was the mother of 4 children. Dorotha was a woman in a world of change. She was a wife and mother committed to excellence. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities among the children, the youth, and the women. She will be well remembered for leading the children in song.
She was involved in her community and participated in the schools where her children attended. She was proud to be a First Security Bank employee of nearly 20 years retiring as the Operations and Teller Supervisor of their West Side Branch in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her banking experience began early in life when she worked for the State Bank of Utah in Provo, Utah and the Bank of America in Corona, California. She also served as the District President and the State Vice President of the Idaho Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
Dorotha considered her friends as her life’s treasures. She enjoyed entertaining, visiting, games, travel, and their company. Throughout the years she has enjoyed being surrounded by good friends. She was always interested in their lives and their achievements. She sent many cards and letters recognizing their accomplishments and friendship.
She is survived by her children: Arlana Anderson of Littleton, Colorado, Bruce Eric (Nancy) of Clovis, California, Avalon Wappett (Nigel) of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Don Anderson of Kingman, Arizona. She is also survived by Lori Anderson of Kingman, Arizona, her daughter by marriage and by devotion; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlan Lewis Anderson, her parents, Alfonzo and Mignon Christensen, and all of her siblings: Velma Allen, Millie Lee, Herman Christensen, Newell Christensen, and Avalon Bigelow.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on December 8, 2007 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, Shelley, Idaho. The family will receive friends from Saturday morning 10:00-11:15 a.m. Interment will follow in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in the Kingman Arizona Stake Center located at 610 Eastern, Kingman, Arizona on December 15 at 11:00 a.m.
