Dorothy Marie Grimm

Dorothy Marie Grimm , 100 years old, passed away at the home of her daughter on September 10th, 2024 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was born in Lorain, Ohio. Dorothy graduated from Lorain High school and studied nursing at Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired as the Director of Clinical Nursing Services from Elyria Memorial Hospital. Dorothy married Elmer Grimm in 1946.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents George and Esther (Kuehner) Roll, husband Elmer Grimm, brothers Robert and Donald Roll and grandson, Jared McKenzie

Dorothy was a loving mother to Pamela (Lee) McKenzie, Leonard (Jane) Grimm and Susan (Terry) Barney. Her family meant everything to her ..She was dearly loved by her 18 Grandchildren, 68 Great Grandchildren and 15 Great-Great Grandchildren!! Also, she was loved by the 34 spouses of these family members!

Dorothy lived her married life in Elyria. The last 4 years of her life were spent at the homes of her daughters in Utah and Idaho. Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She lived her faith out with a loving legacy of generosity. She always cared for others and was willing to do whatever was needed. She enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious cookies that were shared with many.

There is no visitation. A service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053 at 1:00 PM on Thursday, 9/19/2024

Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria, Ohio.

To honor Dorothy’s charitable life, in lieu of flowers, donations will be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
