Dorrel Duane Harker, 49, passed away Sunday night May 4, 2014 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following complications from a stroke.
He was born August 4, 1964 in Idaho Falls to Gordon and Nola Harker.
He graduated from Firth High School in 1983. He then served in the Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
He married Stephanie Peterson August 15, 1985 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and had four daughters Jessica Lynn, Brittany Lee, Courtney Ann, and Ashley Amy.
He will be lovingly remembered by friends and family for the acts of services he gave to friends and family. He considered his friends family and would do anything for anyone. He loved fishing and being in the outdoors. He made yearly trips back to his mission to go fishing for a week at a time. He enjoyed cooking and hosting parties with friends. Family game nights on weekends was a must complete with popcorn and milkshakes. He was a handyman that loved solving difficult problems.
He is survived by his parents: Gordon and Nola Harker of Firth, ID; his siblings: Jody (Elmo) Smith of Evanston, WY and Kendal Harker of Logan, UT; his wife: Stephanie Peterson Harker of Firth, ID; his daughters: Jessica Lynn of Chicago, IL, Brittany Lee of Ammon, ID, Courtney Ann of Firth, ID, and Ashley (Navar) Andra and their two boys Conrad and Kaisen of Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Goshen Ward Chapel, 792 N 1090 E. The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 6:30 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home
, 110 W Oak, in Shelley
and Friday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
