Douglas Dell Mitchell

August 31, 1949 — April 2, 2006

Douglas Dell Mitchell, 56, of Firth died April 2, 2006 from injuries received in a snowmobiling avalanche accident in Spencer, Idaho.

He was born August 31, 1949 in Shelley, Idaho to Ardell and Hanna Mae Fortner Mitchell. He attended school in Firth and graduated from Firth High School.

He married Aurora Lucio and they had one daughter, Maria Mae. They were later divorced. On May 18, 1991 he married Cindy Lee Ralph in Island Park, Idaho.

Doug loved the outdoors which included fishing, Dutch oven cooking, hunting, horse riding, horse training, snow machining, and four wheeling. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He left us doing what he loved and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. He was famous for his constant teasing whether he knew you or not. Anyone who ever met him never forgot him. We will miss you so much. As Doug would always say “Eat your dessert first.”

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Mitchell of Firth, daughter, Maria Mae Mitchell (Ryan) DeMott of Idaho Falls, grandson, Trey Martin Clark and granddaughter, Jordyn Lupe DeMott both of Idaho Falls, mother, Hanna Mae Mitchell of Shelley, two brothers, Gary (Julie) Mitchell of Firth, Danny (Ramona) Mitchell of Firth, and one sister, Denise (Scott) Coleman of Basalt.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday April 5, 2006 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning 10:00 till 12:40 A.M at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to a college education fund for his grandchildren at East Idaho Credit Union, 865 South Woodruff, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401.
