E. Evelyn Terry

March 21, 1937 — January 25, 2025

E. Evelyn Nilsson Reis Terry, 87, of Shelley passed from this mortal existence to be with our heavenly father January 25, 2025. Evelyn was a loving wife, mom, bonus mom, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many.

Evelyn was born in Shelley, Idaho on March 21, 1937 to Clifford Swain Nilsson and Veta Grace Stoddart. She was the second child of four children. Evelyn graduated from Shelley High School in 1955. Shortly after she married Robet C. Reis, of Dillon, Montana. They have five children. The later divorced.

Evelyn moved to Shelley, Idaho in 1979 and worked for the IFPD for about a year before finding a job in Shelley at the R.T. French Company. She worked at the front desk as a receptionist. She worked there for many years. Little did she know that she would meet the man that she would someday marry while working there.

While living in Idaho, Evelyn took out her endowments in the Temple and started to attend as often as she could. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony and shared it often. In 1986 she sold her home and moved in with her mother to help take care of her. In 1999 Evelyn got a job working in the temple and had decided to start going through a session every Tuesday morning, before work. One Tuesday morning in walks a familiar face from the past. They talked for moment and the rest is history. They married on September 12, 2003 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Evelyn and Kent served a full time mission in the Phillippines, Manilla Mission from 2005 – 2006.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Kent G. Terry; children: Gayle Loman, Brad (Sandra) Reis, Carl (Lori) Reis, Jay (Carrie Beth) Reis, Terri (Ken) Nielson; bonus children: Christy Brunt, Dian (Shawn) Cheney, Carolyn Terry, Kathy (Randy) Call, Bonnie (Doug) Norman, Lyle (Shari) Terry, and Sandra Terry; 33 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren, and brother in law, Gary Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Veta Nilsson; brothers, Kenneth and Lee (Maxine) Nilsson; sister, Velma Campbell; son in law, Jessse Loman; bonus son in law, Micheal Brunt; and bonus grandson, Steven Brunt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Shelley South Stake Center, 675 South Milton Ave. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley and Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.
