Edna Birch

August 23, 1930 — October 30, 2015

Edna Bauer Birch, 85, of Shelley passed away Friday October 30, 2015 at her home.

Edna was born August 23, 1930 in Charlo, MT to Alfred & Alta Jeanette Leavitt Bauer.

She attended schools in Charlo and graduated from Charlo High School.

After high school she moved to Spokane, WA where she worked at a hospital for a year. She then moved to Idaho Falls to work in various clerical jobs.

She met her husband Kay Clark Birch thru a friend from work. They were married August 23, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They farmed in Ucon where their first three children were born. They then moved to Osgood to farm where their last two children were born. They moved to Shelley in 1982 to run an auto parts store.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to serve family and friends. She loved nature and was an avid gardener. She shared the bounties of her hard work with any and all who needed it. She was an excellent cook and many were the recipient of her talents.

Besides cooking her talents included sewing and especially quilting. She made many quilts for family, friends and the Humanitarian Center.

She was an active member of the LDS Church. She had a love for the Lord and served faithfully in all her church callings. She served in the Primary, Mutual and many years in the Relief Society organization.

She is survived by children, Lynette Birch, Joseph R Birch (Cathy) and Jeanette Johnson (Robert); 2 of her siblings; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her husband; her sons Myron B Birch and Neil K Birch; 2 granddaughters and 5 of her siblings.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the 3

Ward Building (513 South Park Ave, Shelley). The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 am at the church.  Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
