Edward Kay Fowler, 67, of Shelley passed away August 11, 2018 with his family by his side at his home after fighting a long battle of cancer.
Ed was born November 15, 1950 in Shelley, Idaho to Edward Glen Fowler and Raynola Ella Rollins Fowler. He grew up and attended school in Shelley, Idaho where he graduated in 1970.
He married the love of his life, Connie Lyn Hackman on October 24, 1970. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard for five years.
In April 1971 they were blessed with a daughter, Kaylyn. In February 1973 they had their son, Joey. Ed was a very hard worker, he went from being a dedicated truck driver, to working out of his shop, to road construction and even finding time to snowplow for businesses around town.
Ed enjoyed camping, taking the four wheelers and going trail riding with the family, riding the dune buggies at the sand dunes, riding his motorcycle, racing stock cars at Noise Park and always tinkering with a project in the shop. He loved his family so much and he will be greatly missed.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Kaylyn Carson of Shelley, son, Joey Fowler of Pocatello, sister, Larene Fowler of Challis and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents, John and Mildred Fowler and Vern and Etta Rollins, brother, Ronald Gene Fowler, sister, Barbara Lee Converse, nephew, Steven Stoddard and niece, Krista Converse.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak Street, in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am till 10:40 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
