Ellen J. Johnson

Ellen Jeanette Johnson (Harris), 81, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, November 5th, 2022.

Ellen was born on November 26, 1940 to Edna and Farl Harris in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

In 1954, she met Ross L. Johnson, and they wed in 1958, going on to have 3 children, Cody, Tammy, and Kip.

When Ellen had Cody, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Ellen excelled at supporting her family through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting Ross through his many endeavors, or cheering Tammy on at dog shows.

Ellen always had a way of brightening the day of anyone’s path she crossed. Her sense of humor was unbeatable, and indescribable. She was known for embarrassing her kids and grandkids by interjecting conversations with her inappropriate anecdotes. Ellen was the definition of a dirty old lady, and she did not care what anyone else thought. That was easily the best thing about her.

Ellen was a passionate cruciverbalist, (someone who has a knack for crossword puzzles), and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her living room recliner, sat by a lit cigarette, and a cup of coffee, solving crossword puzzles, and occasionally swearing at said puzzles when she couldn’t figure out an answer. We will miss her and her comforting presence greatly.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Ross L. Johnson, both of her parents, and her siblings Danny, Dale, Karen, Gloria, and Marilyn.

She is survived by all three of her children: Cody, Tammy and Kip, her brother David, and her grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be an open mic available at the service, and the family asks anyone who has fond memories with Ellen to please share them.
