Elmo Dee Fackrell, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born to David Norman and Thora (Samuelson) Fackrell on January 28, 1933 in Blackfoot Idaho.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a full- time mission in Stockholm, Sweden.
He married Beth Winmill on June 24, 1960, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They just celebrated 58 years of marriage. In November 1964, they moved to Shelley Idaho and bought the Woodville Store which Elmo loved operating for over 50 years.
He enjoyed photography and music. He played many musical instruments including the saxophone, the clarinet and the harmonica.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; brother, Gary (Ann) Fackrell; son, John (Mary) Fackrell; daughters, Lisa Valenzuela and JoBeth Burwell; 11 grandchildren: John’s (Kaylynne, Sean, Melissa, Jeremy, Jessica, Elizabeth), Lisa’s (Raquel, Javier, Yesenia), Jobeth’s (Brayden, Kassi); 20 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
We want to express our gratitude to the staff of Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of our father over the past year.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Woodville 2nd Ward Chapel (1555 N 700 E) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery.
