Elva Faye Smith Andersen, 86, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 after suffering a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
She was born October 13, 1927 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Luther Edwin Smith and Sarah Ethel Hathaway Smith. She attended school into the 8
th
grade. At the age of 14 her father was killed in a car accident. Faye left school at this time and went to work to help provide for her family. She was married to LeRoy John Andersen June 18, 1945, in Idaho Falls, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1976. They were married for 61 years.
They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Sharon Faye (Kent) Weaver, Ava Marie (Lawrence) Bird, and Carol Lee (Dale) Beck. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. One of the biggest joys in her life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She had various jobs throughout their marriage. Eventually, she helped LeRoy with his Piano Tuning and Food Service businesses. They retired in 1993 and enjoyed many winters in AZ living their lives as snowbirds.
She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a Stake Missionary, Primary worker, Librarian, and the Relief Society. She often bore her testimony by the way she lived and served others who were less fortunate and downtrodden.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Beck of Idaho Falls, ID, her sister Elaine Smith of Temecula, CA, and her brother Evan Smith of Yuma, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter’s Sharon Weaver and Ava Bird, brother Earl Smith, sister Edla Terry, sister Elda Keele, brother Eldwin Smith, brother Elmo Smith, brother Everett Smith, brother Elmer Smith, brother Ellis Dean Smith, and Ervin Smith.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Nalder Funeral Home
, 110 W Oak, in Shelley
. The family will meet with friends Tuesday morning from 11:30 a.m. till 12:40 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
