Emily Orilla Clawson Scott passed away on June 21, 2015, in her home in Shelley of natural causes. She was 91 years of age. She was born in December of 1923 in Shelley, the daughter of Ray and Veva Harker Clawson.

She is survived by her children, William Ray and Joan Scott, Douglas John Scott, Veva Ethel Kotter, Jerry Lee and Stacey Scott, Mary Beth Williams, Susan Leslie and Lamar Fink, Joseph Earl and Kittie Scott, Edna Margaret Scott and by her sister Myrtle Lee Allred.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her children Jeannie Lynn Scott and David Scott, her daughter-in-law Mary Lucy Scott, and her siblings Veva Clawson, Moroni Oborn Clawson, George Ray Clawson, Marion Pearl Cox, John R Clawson, and Elva Beth Mortensen.

Emily Orilla worked as a telegrapher, studied later in life and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at the Riverview Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit for many years.

She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She has served as a teacher in the Relief Society and in the Primary. She was called on a Family History Mission and served for over twenty three years translating old Latin German records into English. After being released from her mission she continued translating, this time Spanish records into English. She has always been a faithful daughter of our Heavenly Father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel at 184 N. Park Ave. in Shelley. There will be a visitation period preceding the services beginning at 10:00 am. She will be interred at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
