Francis Charles “Skip” Walker, 75, of Shelley passed away June 13, 2015 at his home.
He was born December 13, 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Frank Joseph and Florence Alena Dutton Walker.
He was raised in California, Oregon, and Idaho.
As a teen, he went to Montana and worked in the Anaconda Copper Smelter and herded sheep.
He married Mary Ann Sheeley in Idaho Falls on December 1, 1962.
She died in 1983.
He married Ann Weatherston in Idaho Falls on February 5, 1994.
He worked for Penford Products for 30 years.
He joined the Army National Guard in 1962 and retired in 1999.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and worked in the scouting program.
He was very proud when one of “his boys” made Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; his sons, Russell Walker of Idaho Falls; Kody Walker of Texas; daughters, Alena Mellgren of Richland, WA and Tori Walker of Long Island, NY; brother, Arnold Walker of Montana; eight grandchildren and two great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, his parents, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery with Military Honors by the David B. Bleak Post 93 of Shelley assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
