Gayle Christensen Baxter

April 21, 1915 — February 1, 2007

ONE WHO LOVED….. AND WAS LOVED

Gayle Christensen Baxter passed from this life of natural causes on February 1, 2007 surrounded by those who truly loved her.

She was born April 21, 1915 in Shelley, Idaho to Jennie McBride Christensen and Davis Christensen weighing just 3 pounds.  She has been a survivor ever since.  She married her sweetheart, James Willard (Bill) Baxter on June 4, 1936, caring for each other during the good times and the hard times until his passing.  Gayle was blessed with five children and was a busy Idaho farmer’s wife.

She was involved in the LDS church, sales opportunities, Farmer’s Wives Club, various bridge and dinner groups, and adventurous travels.  Gayle always treasured good times shared with family and neighborhood friends in Idaho and St. George, Utah.  She was a “life-long learner” until the end.  Her life was long and full of good memories.

She is survived by her brother Boyd Christensen and her children Rand Baxter, Bette Jackstien, and Cathy Baxter and adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her son, Blaine, and her daughter, Barbara Hope, she will surely enjoy a wonderful reunion with them.  To those who touched or were touched by Mom in life, we thank you and wish you peace.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, February 3rd, 2007 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, in Shelley, Idaho.  The Family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral.  Internment will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.

“The tide recedes but leaves behind bright sea shells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains….. For every life that passes, something beautiful remains.”
