H. Clyde Weatherston

September 8, 1913 — June 30, 2008

H. Clyde Weatherston, 94, of Goshen, passed away June 30, 2008 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 8, 1913 in Plano, Idaho, the first child of Heber J. Weatherston and Mabel Christina Hemsley Weatherston.

Clyde attended school in Plano, graduating from Edmunds High School.  Following graduation he spent some time working on a CCC project in Northern Idaho.  He then returned to Plano to work for a local farmer.

In the early spring of 1941 he enlisted in the Air Force.  Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor he was sent over seas where he made 49 bombing runs over North Africa and Italy.

Clyde married Genevieve Nalder on February 14, 1942 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on February 13, 1946.

Following his discharge from the service they moved to Goshen, Idaho where he lived the rest of his life.

He farmed and worked for various potato warehouses until his retirement at age 75.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all his life and held various positions in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; children, Neil Weatherston, Ann (Skip) Walker all of Goshen; Carol (Ted) Christensen of Blackfoot; Lindy (Joe) Dominick of Ontario, OR; Bruce (Lynnell) Weatherston of Roosevelt, UT; siblings, Vern Weatherston and LaJune (LaVere) Rawlins both of Ogden, UT; Pearl Madison and Evva Garrett both of St. George, UT, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and one son, David.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 5, 2008 at the Presto Ward Chapel (792 North 1090 East) with Bishop David Schiess conducting. The family will receive friends Friday evening 5:00 till 7:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion Post 93 of Shelley.
