Henrietta Miller

October 21, 1935 — October 14, 2018

Henrietta Norton Miller, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully in her home on October 14, 2018 in Idaho Falls.

Henrietta was born in Irvington Kentucky to Orum Norton and Gracie Meador Norton on October 21, 1935. She was one of 10 children growing up on the family farm. She attended Irvington High School in Irvington Kentucky. After high school she attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught 2nd grade at Irvington School and Overdale Elementary School from 1961 till 1970.

She married Edward Gustave Miller Jr on June 13, 1970 in Irvington Kentucky. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following their marriage they moved to Idaho and made their home in Idaho Falls where they lived until Edward’s passing in 1983.

In 1989 she started a new career working as a librarian for the North Bingham County Library in Shelley, Idaho. She worked there until her retirement in 2015. Working in the library was a great joy for her as it gave her access to all the books she could read. In her free time she loved to go camping, fishing, knitting, reading and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful listener and would help anyone that needed it.

Henrietta is preceded in death by her parents Orum and Gracie Norton, sisters Mary Alice Otten, Edna Brown, and Ruth Evelyn Cannon. Brothers James Norton and Duane Norton and her husband Edward Miller.

Henrietta is survived by her children Ruth Miller, Susan (Scott) Fogelberg and Christopher (Melissa) Miller, sisters Dorothy Hobbs, Helen Hobbs, Norma Lee Kinnison and brother Edward Norton, her grandchildren Amber Marie Fogelberg, Aaron Michael Fogelberg, Cameron Alexander Christopher Miller, Brandon Joseph Fogelberg, Caleb-Michael Andrew Miller, Kayli Terese Fogelberg and Colton Robert James Miller.
