Jack Monty Day

Jack Monty Day, 88, of Shelley passed away March 26, 2016 at his home under the care of Alliance Hospice.

He was born April 17, 1927 in Ogden, Utah to Howard Alexander and Georgia Montague Day.  He attended school in Shelley.

On November 20, 1948 he married Jean Beck in Idaho Falls.  They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1947.  He owned and operated Day Construction Company.  He served as a member in the Lions Club.

He was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.

Jack is survived by his wife, Jean of Shelley, his children, Rick Day of Shelley, Cindy Gellings of Idaho Falls, Kim Day of Shelley, six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 till 10:40 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, in Shelley. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest cemetery with military rites by the David B. Bleak Post #93 of Shelley assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
