Jeffrey Frank Tschikof of Idaho Falls passed away Friday, November 28 in Idaho Falls.
He was born July 3, 1972 in Idaho Falls to Marjorie Jean Walton and Richard LaMont Tschikof. He attended Dora Erickson Elementary School and Clair E. Gale Junior High School in Idaho Falls.
Jeff’s father passed away in 1984 and in 1986, his mother remarried Wayne Madsen and his family moved to Shelley, ID. He finished his schooling at Firth High School, graduating in 1990.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1990, doing his basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri. On Dec. 8, 1990, he married his high school sweetheart, Patti Rae Cook, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They spent the first three and a half years of their marriage with the military in Schweinfurt, Germany. Their first child, Canon Jeffrey was born 2 months before they returned back to the states. Jeff also served 4 years in the Idaho National Guard.
After returning to Idaho Falls in 1994 he began working for Western Wholesale doing garage door installation for about 2 years. He then joined his father-in-law in his family business. He was part owner and manager of the A&W Restaurant and Ray’s In & Out from 1986 until March of 2008. He was currently employed by Conrad Bischof and also at Sam’s Club in Idaho Falls.
Jeffrey will be remembered by all who knew him for his willingness to help anyone at anytime. He enjoyed serving in the scouting program for several years where he became very attached to several young men and still remains friends with most of them. Jeff had a talent to be able to fix anything; his children always knew if something didn’t work, dad could fix it. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and playing practical jokes on friends. He enjoyed building pinewood derby cars and racing RC cars with his son, watching his girls sing and dance and listen to his wife sing and play the piano.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Patti, their children; Canon Jeffrey, Kaeli Rae, Kenadi Kae, and Carson Ray of the family home. Also his mother, Marjorie Harris and her husband Don, his in-laws, Ray and Kathy Cook, Blaine Cook (brother-in-law), Michelle Bitton (John) and Marcia Cook (sisters-in-law), Ryan, Kevin and Darin Harris (step-brothers).
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tschikof, his brother, Ricky Tschikof, and his stepfather, Wayne Madsen.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Foothills Stake Center, corner of 49th S. and Ammon Road. The family will meet friends on Monday evening 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the Stake Center.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Tschikof Children Trust Fund at Bank of Idaho on Channing Way in Idaho Falls.
