Jerry Christian Freeman, 83, of Basalt, Idaho, passed away on June 16, 2021.
Jerry was born July 20, 1937, in Basalt, Idaho to Lorin Farr Freeman and Dolores Jensen Freeman.
While working at Boozers in Idaho Falls, Idaho he met the love of his life, Wilma Weimer. After a few short weeks, on April 30, 1960, they were married in Basalt. During their life together, they lived in Basalt and California then moved back to Basalt where they spent most of their 61 years together.
Jerry loved to spend time in Island Park, particularly during the reunions. He enjoyed visiting with family, playing pinochle, fishing, traveling when he could, and so much more. He loved spending time with his grandkids and watching them grow into wonderful adults. They eventually made his life even brighter with great-grandchildren. He is so proud of his family and he made sure they knew it. Jerry was a kindhearted man who dedicated the last decade or more of his life caring for his loved ones and making sure they were taken care of even to his last day.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Freeman; two daughters, Tana (Gary) Robinson, Lori (Clayton) Orme; Nine grandchildren, Jake(Lindsey) Robinson, Brittney (Dillon) Howell, Casey (Kalli)Robinson, Dereck (Ashley) Waggoner, Andy Waggoner, Chase Loynd, Amber Serr, Sarah Baker, Chance Loynd; Ten Great Grandchildren; Jordan Robinson, Jerry Waggoner, Donivan Waggoner, Carson Robinson, Cage Waggoner, Isabel Waggoner, Axel Waggoner, Daxon Howell, Zoey Howell, Paxton Robinson, and Four Step-Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Freeman, great grandson Donic Howell, great granddaughter Angel Baby Waggoner also his Father, Mother, and all of his siblings.
There will be a small graveside service on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Basalt Cemetery at 10:30 am with military rites.
Words cannot express the love we have for him and hope he found the peace and rest he needed. Our family wants to thank everyone for the kind words and love that has been shown. I hope everyone that knew Jerry can follow his example of being a wonderful selfless human.
