Jerry D. Mitchell

Jerry D. Mitchell, 72, of Shelley, passed away Friday, May 11th, 2012 at his home.

He was born March 12, 1940, in Shelley to Dale M. Mitchell and Lois McGary Mitchell.  He attended school in Shelley, and graduated from Shelley High School.  Following his graduation, he entered the Navy where he served for 4 years.

On November 17th, 1978 he married Pat L. Hurley, in Salmon, Idaho.

Jerry worked at French's, then Pillsbury, and Basic American Foods until he retired, after 47 years there. 

Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking pictures, sharing stories, being with his 3 dogs, and spending time out by the pond in his back yard.  He especially loved to be with his family and grandchildren. Jerry will be missed terribly by all those who knew him.     

He is survived by his wife, Pat Mitchell, and his two children Jeff (Yvonne) Mitchell, and Kaye (Trevor) Adams, a brother, Jimmie (Darlene) Mitchell, and his grand-daughters April, Amber, Ashley, and Ciandra Mitchell, and his grandson Daegan Adams. 

A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 15, at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and there will be a grave side service held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley, with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93 assisted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
