Jody Edward Howell

Jody Edward Howell, 51, of Firth passed away April 2, 2007 from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born September 22, 1955 in Alturas, California to Charles Edward and Virginia Lee Golden Howell.  He grew up in Redding, California and graduated from Enterprise High School in 1973.  He entered an apprentice training program in Heating/Ventilation/ Air Conditioning with Owens/Case Beer Refrigeration in Redding.  He worked in Northern California, Nevada, and Southeastern Idaho.

He met and married Cheryl Friedrich in 1989 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived for 12 years.  While living in Nevada their sons, Ryan and Lance were born. Jody would venture to Colorado and Idaho during the fall for elk and deer hunting.  While there, he noticed the beauty of Idaho.  He and Cheryl decided to relocated to Southeast Idaho and raise their sons in Shelley. 

Jody was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and the great outdoors.  He was a hard worker and he did this to provide a better life for his sons.  He was very proud of Ryan and Lance and their accomplishments in academics and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, sons, Ryan and Lance of Shelley, father, Charles of Port Orchard, WA, sisters, Jo Ann and Marlene of San Jose, CA, brothers, Frank of Elizabethtown, KY and Richard of Monterey, CA, as well as many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael and his mother, Virginia. Those that know his spirit are very saddened but rejoice in the knowledge that we will see his again.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday April 6th at the Woodville Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East) with Bishop Kris Kelley conducting. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday 12:00 till 12:40 P.M. at the church.  Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.
