June Francis Jones Simpson

June Francis Jones Simpson, 88, of Shelley, passed away February 25, 2008, at her home of natural causes.

She was born January 26, 1920 in Shelley, Idaho to Lewellyn and Louise Clow Jones.  She graduated from Shelley High School in 1938.

On June 11, 1938 she married Glen Simpson in Blackfoot, Idaho.

She worked for a local greenhouse and two local restaurants.  She opened her own restaurant in Firth and then was employed as a Lab Technician for RT French Company for 10 years before retiring.  In addition, she was an excellent seamstress and an accomplished gardener winning many ribbons at the fair.  Regardless of her vocations, she was first and foremost a great wife, mother, and grandmother, and was always serving those around her.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she taught primary for many years. 

She cooked hot lunch at the Jamestown Elementary School and loved the children she served there.  She also taught sewing 4-H classes to area children.

She loved to travel and toured Europe with her mother when they were 66 and 86 years of age.  She was an avid reader.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children; Harold G (Lola) Simpson and Marilyn Russell both of Shelley and Gene (Shannon)  Simpson of Rigby, siblings; Louise Sherrod of Mesquite, NV, Donald R (Clyda) Jones of Richland, WA, Francis (Alene) Jones of Sun Sites, AZ, and Peggy (Kent) Brooks of Overton, NV, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Elmer Ray Simpson, brothers; Arthur Jones, Lew Jones Jr., Robert Grey Jones, Larry Jones and one sister, Grace Park.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday February 29, 2008 at the Jameston Ward Chapel (1101 East 1250 North) with Bishop Kristan Sparks, conducting.  The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 till 12:45 P.M. at the church.  Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
