Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Dial, 58, passed away Thursday, August 14

, 2014 with her family by her side at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID.

Kathy was born in Chicago in 1956 to Harry and Eileen (Plunkett) Heiselmann. She graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls in 1974, then went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree from University of Idaho in 1978. She was a talented office administrator with a penchant for organization, grammar, and writing.

She is survived by her husband, Bob “Red” Dial, daughters, Genene Youngstrom and her husband Josh, Amanda Allen and her husband Jeremy, and Shannon Claver and her husband Luke, her mother, Eileen, and her brothers, Paul, John, James and William Heiselmann.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Heiselmann.

Kathy was a wonderful sister, mother, and grandmother who adored spending time with her family, including her three children and nine grandchildren, Kadin (14), Kelcee (12), Nickolas (9), Elizabeth (6) and Coleton Youngstrom(1), Dalila (4) and Capri Allen (1), and Josilyn (7) and Abigail Claver (5). Her grandchildren affectionately called Kathy “Grandma Candy,” as she always had sweets for them.

Kathy’s favorite pastime was being outdoors with her family and her loving husband, where she enjoyed the off-road adventures in their Razr and Jeep. She loved to camp in the fresh mountain air and spend evenings sitting around the campfire, sharing stories with her family.

At the request of Kathleen, a private celebration of life will be held for Kathy’s surviving family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Idaho Falls Gem and Mineral Society or the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter.
