Keith Martin Whittle, 90, passed away April 25, 2017 due to a fall and broken hip.
Keith was born on August 26, 1926 at St. Anthony, Idaho to John Stillman Whittle and Hazel Etta Durney. He had two older siblings Reuel and Gweneth who both preceded him in death. He grew up in Farnum and Rigby, Idaho. After high school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Amarillo, Texas where he attended B-29 engineering school.
He married his sweetheart Dawna Sievers on June 5, 1946 in Ucon, Idaho. There union was blessed with five children: Brenda (Craig) Criddle, Jack (deceased), Patti (Rod) Cook, Holly (James) Montgomery, Scott.
He reared his family in Firth, Idaho where he could enjoy the great outdoors. He loved to ride horses, camp, fish, ride snowmobiles, snow ski and boat. We have many fond memories of these outings.
He provided well for his family and was a hard worker. He worked at the Atomic Energy Commission site near Arco, Idaho for 30 years as a mechanic. He often took on extra work in the garage at home to provide extra income.
His last years without mom were a real struggle. We’re happy for them to be together again.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dawna, son, Jack, granddaughter, Rebecca Criddle and great granddaughter, Camille Morales.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 5th at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley, Idaho. The family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 at the funeral home before the services. Interment will be in the Firth Cemetery.
