Kent Ockerman

November 10, 1932 – March 11, 2025

A devoted believer of Jesus, loving husband, and outstanding dad.

Dad was a hard worker, spending all of his life working with his hands. He started out working for the Cook family, reaping grain with Dale Wiklund, owned the Firth Texaco Gas/Repair Station, worked at Amcor, and finally the New Sweden Canal Company. All the while raising sheep, something hard at times but enjoyed by dad and mom.

Rock hounding was what dad and mom truly loved. There are some very big rocks around the house that Mark and Julia shake our heads at on how they got there.

Dad’s last years wee about fishing as much as possible. He delighted in going! Dad was mathematically inclined and could build anything.

If you knew our dad, he wasn’t a talker, oh, he’d talk but not at length.

Dad married Dorothie Evelyn Wiklund on January 28, 1955. They had seven children, five never having lived, Mark (Jolee) Ockerman and Julia Ockerman the surviving two. Dad outlived his two brothers and one sister.

Dad lost mom on October 31, 2004. Julia moved home in June of 2005. Mark already lived on the farm which worked out well for dad.

“Well done good and faithful servant.”

Instead of a funeral or celebration of life, please let others know when you’re hurting or not feeling well. Your last days could be happier and longer without as much pain and suffering.
