Kent W. Anderson

Kent W. (Andy) Anderson passed away unexpectedly at his home in Idaho Falls May 16, 2006 at the age of 67.  

    He was born June 30, 1938 in Jameston, Idaho the son of Edward (Ted) and Irma Anderson. He grew up and went to school in the Shelley - Jameston area graduating from Shelley High School in 1957.             

    After high school he started his career with Kirkham Auto Parts as a machinist and store manager, retiring in 2000. Never slowing down he returned to work six months later at Jerry’s Machine where he worked part-time until he passed away.  He had a fondness for cars that developed into a hobby of fixing up and restoring old cars. His favorite was his red 1941 Ford in which he will get his final ride as he is transported to the Shelley cemetery.             

    In 1959 he was married to Ila Ferrin.  They later divorced, but together they had four children all of whom he was completely devoted to.  Kent’s life was dedicated to his children, grandchildren and work.  He enjoyed being with his family especially spending time with his grandchildren.  If he wasn’t working on his cars or spending time with his family, the only other place he could be found was on the river fishing.  Many of the memories his family and friend will cherish are the quality time spent with him fishing.            

    He is survived by his four children, Chris (Len) Izatt of Idaho Falls, David (Teresa) Anderson of Jameston, Brian (Shalyce) Anderson, Tim (Lori) Anderson of Goodyear, AZ, his nine grandchildren and one great grandchild, three brothers, Ronald Anderson of Shelley, Roger Anderson of Pocatello, Richard Anderson of Shelley.  He was preceded in death by his parents Edward (Ted) and Irma Anderson.

    Funeral services will be held 11:00 Monday May 22 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Sunday May 21, 2006 from 6 till 7:30 pm and 10:00 till 10:40 at Nalder Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
