Jewel K. Bolinder, 62, of Firth, passed away with her husband Terry by her side, Sunday morning, Oct. 16th, 2011 at the University of Utah hospital from complications of multiple strokes. Kitty was born Dec. 7th, 1948, in Hawaii, to James and Beatrice Sayles. She grew up and attended school in Hawaii, then went on to serve in the military as a nurse in her early adult years.
She married Terry W. Bolinder on Feb. 14, 1976 and they resided in Firth where she was at Terry’s side each day as they ran their gas station, convenience store, raised their boys, and began her career at Firth High School. They were blessed with two wonderful boys Bjorn and Tel.
Firth High is where she bloomed and became so embedded in everyone’s hearts. This job is where she found and was blessed with many, many life long friends that she was so grateful for. Her huge heart and taking care of us all is what she excelled at and she will so fondly be remembered for all that she did for us. Her primary goal in life was to take care of Terry and her boys but seemed to be able to take care of so many more. When each of her grandchildren arrived her love for them was beyond words. Kanani Jewel and Kason William were her little “lovies” and the light of her life.
We, Kitty’s family, will be eternally grateful for the love extended to Kitty in the last 6 weeks from the beautiful community of Firth. She loved living there so much and loved her “family” at the school. A special thanks to her good friends, Kathy, Barb, Billie, Janice and Colleen, each held a special please in her heart.
Kitty is survived by her husband, Terry and son, Bjorn of Firth; son, Tel (Emily) Bolinder of Idaho Falls; and two precious grandkids, Kanani and Kason; brothers, James Sayles Jr., John Sayles, Jay Sayles, Jensen Sayles, Jerald Sayles, Jeff Sayles, sisters, Joyce Sayles – Buck, and Johanna, all of Hawaii, three brothers in law, Kevin (Sandi) Bolinder of Firth; Merrill (Cheryl) Barney of St. George, Utah; and Dennis Barney of Sacramento, California; sister in law, Belinda (Bill) Tolley of Rigby; and her many nieces and nephews that adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 22, 2011 at the Firth High School Gymnasium.
