Kris Jae Oliverson passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was 60.
He was born December 18, 1955 to Ray Henry Oliverson and Helen Jenkins in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Hillcrest High school in Midvale, Utah and attended Brigham Young University. He served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in San Diego, California as a sign language missionary.
On August 9, 1979 he married his sweetheart Ruth Marchant in the Salt Lake City LDS temple for time and eternity and in the coming years they had three sons and a daughter. During his working life he and his family lived in West Jordan, Utah, Beaverton, Oregon and Shelley, Idaho. He worked in many professional capacities until his health became too much for him to continue.
In 2010 he underwent surgery that saved his life and we as a family were blessed to have him with us for almost 6 more years.
Kris fought every day to live because of the love he had for his six grandchildren. He expressed often that he was going to keep fighting so that he can see his grandchildren grow up.
Kris served faithfully in his church callings as a member of the Bishopric, High Priest group, Primary and Nursery. Of all his church callings his favorite was working with Primary Children. He was a faithful member of the church and always looked for opportunities to serve others.
Kris is preceded in death by his father, Ray Henry Oliverson and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Oliverson of Shelley, Idaho, mother, Helen Jenkins Oliverson of Midvale, Utah, son, Patrick Jae Oliverson (Jessica) of Burley, Idaho, son, Adam Oliverson of Logan, Utah, son, Spencer Oliverson (Hillary) of Menan, Idaho, daughter, Angela Oliverson of Midvale, Utah, his grandchildren, Brayden, Whitney, Weston, Hadley, Caleb and Taysom, and his brothers, Kevin Ray Oliverson (MarJean) of Santa Clara, Utah and Kurt Drew Oliverson (Loralee) of Sandy, Utah.
