Larry LaVore Haslam, 66, of Shelley passed away December 3, 2019 at Teton Post Acute Care and Rehab.
He was born November 26, 1953 in Idaho Falls to Grant LaVore and Leora Emily Quinton Haslam. He was raised in Woodville and attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley High School in the class of 1971. After high school he studied for a short time to be a veterinarian at the University of Idaho.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Larry worked his entire career in the potato industry. He was employed by the R.T. French Company, Pillsbury, and Basic American Foods all in Shelley. He retired from Basic American Food.
He raised rabbits and would often show them in competitions. He was a 4H leader for many years and helped with the rabbit barn at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. He had many dogs which he loved. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Larry is survived by his siblings: Karen (Joe) Martin of Baton Rouge, LA, Anita (Dave) Christensen of Shelley, Jeanie (Darwin) Jensen of Burley, Max Haslam of Shelley, Bert (Debbie) Haslam of Shelley, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Jennifer Stoddard and a nephew, Brandon Haslam.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
