Lois Larson, 96, of Firth died at her home on March 18, 2014 of natural causes. She was born on April 1, 1917 in Shelley, Idaho.  She was the third of three children and the only daughter of Peter H. , 1936. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

During the early years of their marriage Warland worked as a laborer and farmer.  In 1941 they moved to Vancouver, Washington where he worked in an aluminum refining plant.  In 1945 they moved to Montana where he ranched on the Little Big Horn River for two years.  They then lived in Sheridan, Wyoming for a short time before returning to Basalt in 1946 where Warland farmed until 1953.  They moved to Firth in the 60’s where they developed Larson’s Trading Post, an antique and second hand store. They both worked at Idaho Supreme Potatoes for several years before retiring.

An active member of the LDS Church she served in many callings over the years including Primary President twice, MIA President, and several other callings.  She was a faithful visiting teacher for most of her adult life until she was forced to stop because of her age.

Lois loved to travel and was able to visit all 50 States and Washington DC as well as several provinces in Canada and Mexico. An active member of the community, she was a volunteer in the gift shop at Bingham Memorial Hospital for many years.  She also volunteered at the Potato Museum in Blackfoot where she had her picture taken, by the big potato, that was published in a National Geographic Travel magazine.  She was an avid basketball fan and loved BYU and the Jazz. She was a devoted mother and always ready to help anyone in need.  She made friends easily and was a friend to all she met.

Survivors include her children; Carolyn Ann (Wayne) Lyon of Firth, John W. (Betty) Larson Jr. of Rigby, and Vincent Winn (Cynda) Larson of Firth, Son-in-law Carl Fox of Stillwater, Oklahoma, 19 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 10 great, great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Lael, her parents, and her two brothers, Vincent and Sheldon.

The family would like to thank Danielle and Roger from Encompass Home Health and Marcie, Gary, Kenny, and Sheila from Encompass Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our mother prior to her death.
