Lois Rae Brooks Stears, 76 of Shelley Idaho passed away Sunday March 17, 2013 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was born June 21, 1936 in Shelley, Idaho to Kelley W & Delia Brooks. She was the second of 4 children. She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah until 1948, when her family moved to Shelley, Idaho. She attended Shelley High School Class of 1954. She graduated from Seminary in 1953.

She married her high school sweetheart, De Len Thomas Stears in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 23, 1954. Lois was a devoted wife and mother.

She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings including Primary President and Relief Society Secretary. Lois & De Len also served as temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple for almost five years.

Lois enjoyed activities with her family, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her sweetheart.

Lois  is survived by her husband De Len, sister Joyce(Merwyn) Searle, brother Gary, daughter in law Laura Kaye, son Michael(Julie), daughter Bonnie(Kent) Searle, daughter Julie(John) Dietz, 22 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kurt, son Gary, and grandson Shane Searle. The family wishes to thank the nurses in ICU, as well as Doctor O’Mara of EIRMC for the extraordinary care given to Lois.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Woodville LDS Church (1555 N 700 E). The family will meet with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
